    Skalický rubín is a world-renowned red wine from the Skalica winemaking territory - a blend of Blaufränkisch (at least 70 %), St. Laurent and Blauer Portugieser. The wine is characteristic for its full taste, high tannin content and the ruby-red colour.

    The grapes used for the production of Skalický rubín must be grown in registered vineyards located in a particular territory and only the winemakers with a production unit within this territory may produce the wine. The geographical territory for the production of Skalický rubín is defined by the border of the cadastral area of ​​ Skalica and the municipalities Mokrý Háj, Popudinské Močidlany, Prietržka, Radošovce and Vrádište. The central peak of the area where the vineyards are located is the Vintoperk hill with an altitude of 316 m, and a specific composition of the soil, conferring the wine its extraordinary properties and character.​
