Beer house u Albína (microbrewery Štramák)
They have started brewing beer as homebrewers for own consumption and their close neighbourhood. Back then, the beer was called Komanč.
They used to brew mostly top-fermented beers such as Pale Ale, Weizen and the like, as the temperatures in the domestic conditions were optimal for Lagers only in the winter months. They had a brewery kettle of 100 l that quickly turned out to be insufficient. People liked the beer and so they decided to build a brewery. They had at their disposal the premises of the Beer house u Albína that has been open for more than 20 years. After the reconstruction, they opened a brewery in Senica in April 2013. The new brewery, as well as the beer, is called Štramák. It has a brewery kettle of 600 l. Both decoction and infusion mashing methods are used for beer brewing, depending on the type of beer. The cold production of beer takes place in open fermentation vats (“spilka”), after that it matures in lager tanks and is put into kegs and tapped.
